0:28.8	And today, we come to a book on our journey that is near and dear to my heart.
0:33.8	A couple years ago, I wrote a study for the daily grace code about the small yet mighty
0:38.8	book of Joel, which was recently released.
0:42.7	And today, we get to take a quick look at the three chapters that make up this book.
0:48.7	Take previous short prophetic books, we will cover some context, and take an overarching
0:54.0	view of the themes found within Joel.
0:57.8	My hope, as you listen today, is that you will be grateful for the restoration that only
1:03.0	the Lord provides, and how God redeems what the locus of life destroy.
1:10.6	Not much is known about the author of Joel.
1:13.3	We do know that the word of the Lord came to Joel in the first verse.
1:18.1	And we know that he was the son of a man named Pethuel.
1:22.4	We can also take some clues from the context of the book itself and state with some confidence
1:28.7	that Joel was from Judah and was familiar with Jerusalem, the leaders of the city, and
1:35.2	the sacrificial system.
