0:34.5	Today, we will take a look at Genesis, chapters 37 through 39.
0:40.0	In these chapters, we will see Jacob take a supporting role while his son Joseph takes
0:45.4	center stage.
0:47.2	We have two major objectives in our time today.
0:50.3	First is to understand how the cultural norms of this day influenced the poor and sinful
0:56.5	decisions that took place and to look at the parallels between the life of Joseph and
1:02.9	the perfect life of Jesus Christ.
1:06.0	So let's get started with chapter 37.
1:09.6	As you know, we are walking through the Bible chronologically this year.
1:14.0	Technically, the first 11 verses of this chapter occurred before Rachel's death in Genesis
1:20.4	35, verse 20.
1:22.8	There will be many times throughout this journey when we could move smaller passages to other
1:27.5	places, but we don't want to break up the narrative more than necessary or cause confusion.
