Tiffany here, and today we come to Ezekiel, chapters 22 through 23.

I know these chapters might seem repetitive and heavy.

After all, we've read about Jerusalem's demise many times in other prophetic books at this

point.

But we want to keep in mind that while Ezekiel is prophesying Judah's demise, he speaks

of these prophecies to those already in captivity in Babylon.

These are the captives who were taken in the first and second sieges, and many of them

falsely believed that Jerusalem wouldn't fall, and they would return home sooner rather

than later.

Ezekiel's prophecies serve as a reminder that the continual sin and rebellion of God's

people has now brought God's judgment and wrath.

And today's chapters further show how God will purge the nation of their sin so that

they and the nations around them will know that he is Lord.

Chapter 22 reads like an indictment on Jerusalem.
