Today we come to chapters 18 and 19.

These two chapters show us the necessity of a Savior due to our sin and God's faithfulness

to send the Messiah to make us right before Him.

The Lord will continue to use parables to help the people see their depravity and need

for Him.

So, let's get started with chapter 18.

Thus far, the majority of Ezekiel's prophecies have been directed to those still living in

Judah.

Their judgment was certain.

Chapter 18 shifts focus and addresses those who are already living in exile.

The Lord begins by addressing a proverb that was being used by the people to complain.

They felt that the present generation of Israelites was being punished for the sin of their predecessors.

In other words, they didn't want to take responsibility for their own sin.
