Strait, which is a drug rehabilitation program for young people.

This is Mel Semler, the founder and chairman of the board of Straight Incorporated.

In episode four, Sempler set out to transform Straight into a national franchise,

with branches all over the country.

While he had absolutely no qualifications in teen rehabilitation,

he was uniquely suited to the task.

His expertise was in commercial real estate,

specifically shopping malls.

Something new was coming online in the early 60s called shopping centers.
