Episode 2 Dangerous Dan

By the time Dan Day agreed to be an FBI informant back in 2015,

Eiffra Ahmed had already lived in Garden City for a couple of years.

My whole life I've been a nomad, but Kansas became my home.

She'd grown used to seeing many faces that reminded her of Somalia,

the place where she was born, but ultimately had to flee.

Many of her neighbors were refugees as well.

A lot of the people here had a home at some point in their life,

and I was taken away from them, and they had nothing.

And so coming here allowed them to reestablish that,

allowed them to build that home again.

Building a home in a foreign place can be difficult, and that was certainly true for Eiffra.

But it's especially difficult if you don't understand the language.
