Hey, friends, welcome back to the podcast. Tiffany here, and today we continue our journey in Daniel,

chapter 4 through 6. If you remember, yesterday, we mentioned three overarching themes found in this book.

Daniel's faithfulness and commitment to the Lord, God's sovereignty over the nations, and God's

eternal kingdom. Today, we will focus on one of these themes in each of our three chapters,

and look at God's humbling of three earthly rulers, Nebuchadnezzar, Belchazar, and Darius. Let's start with chapter four.

In this chapter, we clearly see the eternal nature of God's kingdom and the fleeting nature of earthly kingdoms.

This comes through God's humbling of King Nebuchadnezzar.

As we studied yesterday, Nebuchadnezzar had a very fickle faith, meaning that he often

acknowledged God when he worked miracles in the lives of Daniel, Shadrach,

Meshach, and Abednego. But then Nebuchadnezzar would trust in his own might and power,

and fly into rages. This makes Nebuchadnezzar's proclamation in Chapter 4 rather poignant.

His proclamation is bookended by two statements of faith in the

Most High God. In verse 3, Nebuchadnezzar declares about the Lord. His kingdom is an eternal

kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation. Then, in verse 34, he proclaims again,

for his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation.

Nebuchadnezzar clearly realized that it was God's eternal kingdom that would last. But what could make this
