Tiffany here, and today we begin Paul's letter to the Romans.

This is Paul's longest letter and his most theologically rich.

We will cover this letter in just five days, so buckle up as we talk about important doctrines

centered on righteousness, justification, sanctification, and glorification.

As we do at the start of each book, it's important to talk through some context before

we take a look at Romans chapters 1 through 3.

Part of the context comes from Acts chapter 20 verses 1 through 3, which we also read today.

In these three verses, we get a summary of Paul's travels after he left Ephesus.

We know from our time and second Corinthians that Paul was in Macedonia when he wrote the

second letter, and yesterday we mentioned that Paul hoped to visit them for a third time.

He does indeed make that journey and stays in Corinth for three months, and it is while

he is in Corinth that he writes the letter to the Romans.

Paul didn't plant this church in Rome, nor had he visited it before.
