Hey friends, welcome back to the podcast.

Tiffany here, and today we travel down to the Southern Kingdom of Judah and learn more about the reign of Jehoshaphat.

Yesterday, we read about Jehoshaphats' alliance with King Ahab in the Northern Kingdom of Israel.

Ahab's daughter married Jehoshaphats' son, and Ahab called on Jehoshaphat to help him fight the Aramians.

God spared Jehoshaphat while Ahab died in battle.

As we come to Second Chronicles, chapters 19 through 20 today, we will read about Jehoshaphats' rebuke concerning these events.

And we will also study the reforms he made in Judah, his bold prayer, and God's deliverance once again in battle.

God proves himself ever faithful in these chapters.

Despite Manson, God's plan of redemption continues, and his mercy and grace are abundant.

So, let's get started.

In chapter 19, Jehoshaphat returns home from Israel, and the prophet Jehu is there to rebuke him on the Lord's behalf.

Though Jehoshaphat had asked Ahab to seek the Lord's instruction as to whether they should battle the Aramians,

Jehoshaphat had failed to ask the Lord if he should even help Ahab, let alone form a marriage alliance between their children.

Jehu says, Do you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord?

This was a harsh rebuke for a man who genuinely loved and served God.

But it reminds us that we are all prone to sin.

We are all prone to follow our own selfish decisions and not seek the Lord in them.

Jehoshaphat will face a consequence, but God also shows grace.
