Hey, you're in the Bible, friends. Welcome back to the podcast. Tiffany here, and today we complete the book of First Kings.

King Ahab of Israel has played a prominent role over the past few days of our study.

We've seen him make evil decisions many times over, and God has called Ahab out through his prophets.

The prophecy concerning Ahab's death comes to pass in today's chapter, and we will be reminded

that sin has consequences, and that listening to the word of the Lord is always the best choice.

Over the past couple of days, we've been in First Kings while we study the lives of Elijah and

Ahab. And today, we incorporate Second Chronicles back into our study as the kings of Judah

and Israel come together to form an alliance. Remember that under the reigns of the previous kings,

Israel and Judah did not get along.

These two kings were very different.

Jehoshaphat loved the Lord and led his people to do the same,

while Ahab hated the Lord and led his people to live in rebellion and disobedience

as they worshipped a false God.

So how would an alliance even work?

Well, Second Chronicles 181 tells us that Jahashafat made an alliance with Ahab through marriage.

This marriage alliance was between Ahab's daughter and Jahashafat's son.
