Hello and welcome to episode one of the Oscars. What were they thinking? The show that

looks at all the Academy Awards and asks, what were they thinking? And also, what were they

thinking? My name is Adam Tex-Davis, and for about 26 years I've done pretty much every kind of

writing. You can do in the entertainment business feature films, TV, podcast, video games, eulogies,

but I've never actually written the Oscars, but my co-host sure has. I can't believe I'm

sitting here across from the legendary Bruce Valanche. We got Bruce.

Live in color. Here I am. Here you are. Blonde as the days long. How many years did you work

on the Oscar? Well, officially 25. I was unofficially working on it before then and unofficially

been working on it since then.

Ah.

But we live in the world now, you know, Wiki and IMDB and I, I, P, UP, and whatever it is.

And so people can look things up and they can go, well, you're only the head writer for six years.

Head writer, you know, that was bullshit.

It was a title we tossed around between us.
