Congressman Doug Lamalfa is dead, 65 years old. He was beloved in the House of Representatives.

I did not know him, but he was beloved in the House of Representatives by Democrats and Republicans alike.

He was on the Agriculture, Natural Resources, Transportation Infrastructure Committees.

He, fourth generation rice farmer, former state legislator in California.

He was in his seventh term representing the rural northeast part of California.
