3:15.0 | But we have to we have to flash back 15 years ago. And at that time, I was a mild mannered financial planner working for a rather large financial services company. |
3:32.0 | But I always had an interest in history. And so just for fits and giggles, I decided to look into the history of Rochester, New York. |
3:47.0 | And that's where I lived and that's where I worked. And as I did, I began to find strands of a story that unfolded over a period of about four years. |
4:02.0 | So it wasn't that it all came to me at one time. And I suppose the best place to begin, as they say, is at the beginning. |
4:14.0 | There was a fellow by the name of John C. McCurdy who in 1901 comes the Rochester to seek fame and fortune. That was his objective. |
4:28.0 | He had moved from Philadelphia where he had lived and where he had become a very successful business, but he had sold all of his business interests. |
