Tonight we're going to have an interesting talk. I know I teased this yesterday. I was going to talk about it during our show on Parachere and then I totally build out on you guys.

But that's because I knew my guest was coming on the night and I really wanted to chat with him about my experiences and the visit that I did this weekend to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, to the crescent hotel.

Joining me, Bud Steed is an author, researcher, paranormal investigator, an explorer of strange and lost legends.

He's written and published five books, haunted matches, trace, haunted Mississippi Gulf Coast, haunted Baton Rouge, Ozark's ghosts and hauntings, and a book on treasure legends called Lost Treasures of the Ozarks.

His books contain a lot of history and it's his belief that each ghost story, legend or strange occurrence has its roots buried somewhere in historical fact.

One of his new books out haunted Northwest Arkansas, that's what we're going to start off with because that covers Eureka Springs and the amazing hotel that I had a chance to stay at this past weekend at the crescent hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

I wish I'd been feeling better. I know I tried to quarantine myself from you and as many of the guests as I could so I wasn't spreading my man disease to all of you, my man flu.

But it was a pleasure getting a chance to do a kind of a Q&A and just being around and hearing you and watching your passion for this field of the paranormal.

Tonight we're going to talk about Southern scares and lost legends and we're going to have some fun doing that.

But talk to us and give us some of the history if you would of the crescent hotel and then we can talk a little bit about what happened this weekend and I know you had some profound experiences the last two weekends.

But what is the crescent hotel and why is it so important?

Well the crescent hotel was built back in the late 1800s as a hotel and it moved on into a conservatory in college for women and after that a gentleman by the name of Norman Baker, he was basically a quack.

But he had a cure for cancer and he basically built people, you know, people desperate for, you know, their last hope for life and he built them out of millions of dollars.

And the son of a gun only only did four years in prison for all of it and then retired to Florida.

But after that it reverted back to a hotel and you know there's been a lot of deaths and that kind of stuff associated with it when the hotel was being built actually a stone mace and fell to his death.

And his spare has been seen in room 218 and elsewhere on the second floor.

So he's just got a really, really interesting history.

The how it's morphed from, you know, or not morphed but reinvented itself.
