You're going to not watch what's his name,

beat the Joey Chestnut, beat the world record for eating hot dogs because he's decided to partner

with a vegan fake hot dog company and is disqualified. But you are going to watch mind-numbed

entertainment on the 4th of July and you're going to pop a lot of fireworks if you're a decent American.

Why? Because John Adams.

What are the men who formed the committee of three to write the Declaration of Independence wrote to his wife about July 2nd.

Now, what happened is they all got together actually on July 4th and got everything signed

together.

But he wrote, it ought to be solonized with pomp and parade with shows, games, sports, guns, bells,

bonfires, and illuminations from one end to this continent to the other from this time forward

forevermore. You will think me transported with enthusiasm, but I am not.

This was John Adams about the 4th of July.

So you should fire off guns and ring bells, have bonfires and illuminations.

And illuminations was the word they used in the late 18th century for fireworks.

It's what they called them.

Illuminations are fireworks.
