To begin in Hawaii, we need to go back two years. This week, two years ago.

Americans were fleeing Afghanistan. In the scramble to get out of Afghanistan,

men, Afghan refugees trying to flee the Taliban.

They tried to climb aboard the planes, climb into the wheel wells,

they were falling from the sky to their deaths as the planes evacuated.

13 American soldiers, the first American soldiers to die in Afghanistan in several years, died there at the gates by the airport.

It was a disaster. It was a mess.

It is important to understand why no American

has been fired for bungling that. And you need to understand why. The reason not a single

American diplomat, member of the military, or advisor to the president was fired because of how we

bungled the evacuation of Afghanistan is because all of them advised against it.

It was Joe Biden himself who decided to do it.

All of his advisors in the State Department,

in the Defense Department, in the White House,

and on the ground in Afghanistan,

told him not to do it this way.
