points to Jesus. Hey friends and welcome back to a year in the Bible with Daily Grace. My name is

Tiffany and I'm one of your hosts for this podcast and today we will look at Revelation chapters 4 through 6. I know

Revelation can be hard to understand but hang in there we are in this together.

It's easy to get lost in the imagery of these chapters.

We start focusing on all the creatures and eyeballs and scrolls and jewels and animals,

and we end up missing the glory and worship of God Almighty and the slain

Lamb Jesus Christ. Our minds attempt to create the scene in which John found

himself and we quickly realize our inadequacy.

While it is important to understand what these objects represent, let's make sure we don't

miss the work of the main character, Jesus.

So let's talk about what these objects represent and why that might be important to the message of revelation.

First, all of the jewels mentioned around the throne represent God's glory, majesty,

and splinter as he rules and reigns. It was so radiant, John could not even describe the face of the one sitting there.

Next, as we picture the 24 elders and 24 thrones, think of them as unifying the Old and New Testaments.

Twelve of the elders represent the 12 tribes of Israel,

and the other 12 represent Jesus' 12 disciples.

This brings together Old Testament Israel and the

New Testament Church through the unifying sacrifice of Jesus. The four living

creatures around the throne are cherubim and serifim. Angels that worship God Almighty.

They lead in worship and prompt the elders to fall on their knees, cast their crowns before the throne,
