points to Jesus. Hi friends welcome back to you a year in the Bible with daily grace. My name is

Katie and we are back in Mark today studying chapters 10 through 12. I want to start off with a question.

If you had one week left to live what conversations would you have? How would you spend your

time? In these chapters of Mark, we are just about a week before Jesus'

death and resurrection. Jesus spends his last days humbly serving, teaching, and equipping his disciples for their coming ministry.

We see several instances in these chapters where the Pharisees attempt to test Jesus,

hoping to gain reason for his arrest.

They ask him his stance on divorce,

hoping to hear instances when it's approved.

But instead, Jesus lifts their eyes above the legality of divorce, instead to the sacred nature of marriage.

He says, what God has brought together let no man separate.

Fast forward a few verses, we see little children running up to Jesus.

As the disciples tried to shoe them away, Jesus instead embraces them.

He picks them up and he blesses them. My heart explodes in massaging Jesus

surrounded by children and of course he teaches us a lesson here.

Whoever comes to Jesus like a little child will enter the kingdom of heaven.

A few verses later, he teaches who has a hard time getting into heaven.

Those who cannot let go of their possessions follow Jesus.

As Jesus turns away a rich young ruler who refused to sell his possessions, he tells his disciples

that it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter heaven.
