0:31.0	the book of Luke looking at chapter 16 17 and 18. Jesus again
0:36.4	is continuing to teach primarily through parables. Chapter 16 has an emphasis

0:42.8	The first parable is about the dishonest manager.
0:45.6	He has a steward who is wicked.
0:47.8	He doesn't properly steward his master's resources.
0:51.2	When he is about to be punished, the steward shows himself to be shrewd.
0:55.7	He goes to the master's debtors and gives them a discount so that when the steward is kicked
1:00.4	out of the master's house, he would have friends to run to.
1:03.4	What's the principle Jesus is getting at?
1:06.6	He is talking about biblical stewardship.
1:09.3	All that's given to us belongs to God.
1:11.9	We are merely his stewards. And haven't we seen it proven to be true
1:16.2	that those who are faithful with little are also faithful with much? And those who are
1:21.0	dishonest tend to be dishonest no matter the amount of resources
1:24.8	or opportunities before them.
1:27.5	Ultimately, it comes down to who rules our hearts.
1:30.9	The Pharisees may have promoted the belief that people can be devoted to money and devoted to God, but Jesus tells them it's impossible.
