Welcome back everyone to another episode of a year in the Bible with daily grace.

My name is Stephanie and today we're continuing our journey through the book of Luke looking at chapters 13 through 15.

Jesus is continuing his teachings.

Chapter 13 begins with a call to repentance.

The people are wondering if certain sufferings or catastrophes

correlated with worse sins. For example, if someone is struck dead, does that mean he was

a terrible sinner? This was a common belief back then, and if we're

honest, we may fall into a similar line of thinking. But Jesus replied by saying this,

unless you repent, you will perish.

Every single one of us needs to repent because we're all sinners,

and the Lord is long suffering toward his people. The parable of the barren fig tree shows us this.

The fig tree is given time before the master sends it to be burned in the fire because of its barrenness.

This is the saying for all who are alive but do not know God.

Today is a mercy and a gift from God. May we repent and put our faith and trust in Jesus

while there is still time. Then there is the account of Jesus teaching in the synagogue.

It was the Sabbath and Jesus extended compassion to a disabled woman and healed her.

The ruler of the synagogue was angry.

It was the Sabbath, and Jesus was not adhering to their
