Today, we continue Isaiah's prophecy as we look at

chapters 55 through 57. Chapter 55 ends a brief section that began back in chapter 53. Chapter 53 was about the

glorious work of Christ on the cross. Chapter 54 opened the gates of Zion to the Jews and the Gentiles who follow Christ and

here in chapter 55 all sinners are invited to come to the Lord. As we read this chapter we see a beautiful banquet table set and God

graciously invites all sinners into his eternal feast. The feast is for both the rich and the poor and there is no cost because Jesus

already paid the price for sinners on the cross. In God's grace we simply seek Christ for salvation and the doors are open wide to this eternal

In verse 3, we see that we can come because God kept his covenant to David. Jesus sits on the

throne forever and he rules over our hearts. But there is an urgency to this

invitation, Isaiah 55. But there is an urgency to this invitation.

seek the Lord while he may be found.
