Summary

The Bible tells one big story of redemption. Today, we are journeying through Genesis 43-46 and exploring how it points to Jesus, where it fits into the story of Scripture, and how the truth of God’s Word impacts our lives. Notes: Judah promises to take responsibility for bringing Benjamin back, not Simeon. (Genesis 43-46: 00:51) Joseph doesn’t explain how the money ended up in the brothers’ sacks, but his steward does. (Genesis 43-46: 01:32) Follow along with us in the Story of Redemption Study Vol. 1, today on page 36. Hey, hey, welcome back to a year in the Bible with daily grace. I am Joanna Kimbrill and

I am your host for this book of Genesis. And today we are talking through four chapters,

1:17.2

bringing them into his house. And so they try to explain themselves and that they don't know how

1:22.3

the money got in their bags and to repay double. But in the midst of their striving to justify

1:28.6

themselves and to somehow repay, Joseph says, peace your God and the God of your fathers put the

money in your sacks. What a beautiful picture of Jesus Christ to come. In all of our striving and

1:43.5

scrambling to make up for our faults and sins, Jesus provides the payment, his own life,

1:50.6

and he makes peace with us and God. When it was time for the meal, the brothers presented

1:55.8

the present to Joseph. But Joseph seemed more interested in them and their family. He asks that

2:01.6

their father is still alive. And of course, it's Joseph's father too, remember. And he meets Benjamin,

2:07.6

his brother for the first time. He has so much compassion for his brothers, the brothers who

2:14.0

wanted to kill him and sold him into slavery, that he has to run out of the room before he bursts
