On January 13, 1999, Hayman lead disappeared.

28 days later, on February 9, her body was found in Lincoln Park.

In those four weeks, the police opened a missing person's investigation, which became, upon the discovery of her body, a homicide case.

Now today, we'll go day by day through the 28 days it took to find Hay, mapping the investigation of the police,

and tracing the activities of Hay's friends, classmates, and teachers.

We'll discuss the discovery of her body and of the crime scene.

Now one note.

As we go through the dates, we'll skip the ones that we don't have any documentation for.

We start then with January 13, 1999, the day Hayman lead went missing.

So on Wednesday, January 13, 1999, our best theory right now is that Hayman lead left school soon after 220 PM, after telling Becky that she had somewhere else she had to be.

Thereafter, she was supposed to pick up her cousin from Campfield at about 315 PM, but she never showed up to pick her up.

At that point, her family contacted the police and officer Adcock was dispatched to her home at approximately 530 PM.
