So I just got the best thing in the mail and I thought let's start the podcast by shouting

0:19.2

it out because it's not just about each one of us getting well, even though of course

0:26.6

that is what it is mostly about. But what it's also about is creating real substantive

0:34.2

change so that the world thought leaders can start to understand the incredible power

0:42.3

of mind body medicine to heal and to eliminate chronic conditions of all kinds because as we

0:49.4

all know around here, chronic pain and chronic conditions are an epidemic of fear. Yes, it is

0:56.9

expressed as pain, but this is an epidemic of fear and meaning that we are terrified that we

1:03.4

don't have any power over our own lives or any control over our own health and we have so much.

1:10.2

So I'm starting here with a letter I received in the mail the other day. You guys might recall

1:17.5

her name is Ida and she was one of my early podcast guests. She was a young woman, a dancer from

1:25.8

Finland and she had reached out to me with an email totally out of nowhere so I did not know her,

1:33.0

I had no, we had never made each other's acquaintance and she told me that she had been a serious

1:40.8

dancer and she had been bedridden for over a year contemplating her suicide, planning her suicide

1:48.5

and had given herself until Christmas before she decided to take her life and in I guess we'll

1:59.5

call it a beautiful coincidence and people say there are no coincidences. She came upon my work via

2:07.4

the internet and started journal speak and she wrote to me on my fifth day of journal speak I

2:14.8

walked for the first time to my kitchen and made a cup of tea. I have never been so moved by an

2:20.0

email that I received. Only a few months later she was walking and hiking and I think very soon

2:29.3

after that it really was only several months for her of really dedicated doing the work. She was

2:34.2

dancing again. Her dancing videos are spectacular. Obviously it took her a little time to get back

2:41.7

into the saddle after being bedbound for a year but she's only in her 20s and she's an amazing,

2:48.0

amazing young woman and as part of that email she wrote me she expressed a desire to finish her
