Summary

Dr. Stracks is an excellent TMS Physician who has been referring into my practice for almost 10 years. He's a wealth of knowledge about TMS, and has presented me with some of the most challenging cases I've ever tackled. I'm proud to say they all recovered beautifully, and saw so much benefit from seeing life through a mind/body lens (Including Mouse, Olivia (Natalie), Mickey, and Marian from this very Podcast! If you are needing a boost in your recovery, consider joining us Feb 22-23rd in Chicago this winter. In preparation for our workshop, Dr. Stracks joined me for a discussion of what it's like to see a TMS doctor, his personal journey into this work with Dr. Sarno himself, and the benefits of experiencing this kind of teaching Live. Hey guys, happy podcast day. Hope everybody is having a good Friday or a good any day that

0:18.6

you guys are listening to this. This is Nicole. Welcome to my podcast, The Cure for Chronic

0:24.1

Pain. We have such a treat today. I have never sat down and talked to Dr. John Strax about his

0:32.0

journey to finding this TMS work. And we decided because we have obviously already started planning

0:40.2

our workshop in Chicago on February 22nd and 23rd to sit down on the podcast and really talk

0:47.1

together about what it's been like for him coming up through the ranks doing this TMS work,

0:53.6

becoming the amazing physician he is after training at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor,

1:00.8

coming to Northwestern University in Chicago and doing this work for years, really changing lives.

1:06.8

And then finally a few years ago decided to go out on his own and really dedicate his practice

1:12.8

or some percentage of it to TMS work and to helping people find this work and change their lives.

1:18.9

So we have never sat down and had that kind of a conversation. I've known him for years. He has

1:25.3

referred some of the toughest cases ever into my practice. If you guys remember the case that I

1:32.5

used to call Olivia as a case study, her name is actually Natalie. She was one of my podcast guests,

1:39.2

several, not several, a million weeks ago. One of the first podcasts guests I had when I began

1:45.1

this podcast over a year ago, she had such a severe condition that when Dr. Stratx and I connected

1:52.3

over her case, probably in about 2012, she was bedridden on Suicide Watch on her mother's couch in

2:01.4

Chicago and like she felt that all hope had been lost before she found Dr. Stratx. And then after

2:08.5

finding his work and doing his group, he said, Nicole, take this, take this patient and see what you

2:14.4

can do. And through both of our work with her together, she went from somebody who was completely

2:20.4

disabled with no hope of a life to going through four years of rigorous vet school, graduating at

2:27.1

the very top of her class, completing her internship. And now she is in an emergency medicine residency

2:33.6

at the University of Pennsylvania, a brilliant girl that is going to make a huge mark on the world
