Hello everyone and welcome to A Cast of Kings an unofficial podcast about the HBO

original series Game of Thrones. I'm David Chen. I'm Joan Robinson. And together

we are reading a Game of Thrones from George R Martin's songwiste fire. We're also

watching the television show along with it. Typically, Joanna and I split up our

duties in the sense that Joanna reads the books and I only watch the show. But we're

doing a season one rewatch. And so this week we're going to be discussing season one

episode five, The Wolf and the Lion. We'll be spoiling everything through the

show Game of Thrones. But we will not be spoiling anything from future books past

season five of Game of Thrones. And we will be discussing in depth the episode season

one episode five as well as the accompanying chapters in George R Martin's book. So let's

get into this week's episode, Charlie John Robinson. Season one episode five, The Wolf

and the Lion was directed by Brian Kirk and written by Weiss and Benny Off. And this

episode picks up at the tournament that we saw a little bit of in last week's episode.

We see Ned and Sir Barrison sell me, right? Yeah.

Looking over the dead body of John Aaron's old squares or Hugh. Yeah. And they talk a

little bit about, well, actually, I think we had a question in last week's podcast about

why was Sir Hugh marked for death? I think it's more clear in this episode why that is,

right? At least that's the implication, right? Like Ned is suspicious.
