Hi everybody, Mary M. Williamson here, and thank you so much for joining me.

We are definitely living in a season of chaos.

We have been living with chaos for quite a while, but there was this hope, perhaps magical

thinking as it turns out, that with the election, there would be a real shift.

But it seems like we're just moved into another season with the president, of course, and

his minions prolonging this process by which we certify that, in fact, Joe Biden won the

presidency.

I've been disturbed in my own life.

I have a friendship with a woman who is a big Trump supporter and during the campaign.

We were both very careful.

I wrote her an email not too long ago saying I was proud of us, because I felt we really

did try to protect the relationship.

Find ways that we could talk about certain things, not other things.

When we did talk about anything political to try to be respectful, et cetera.

But she said something to me the other day that really it just impacted me.

She said, well, Fox News is losing their viewership now because they've become too liberal.

And she talked about some more far right wing media outlets that are now her favorites.

And I realized, man, this is just, there's no end to this.

There's no end to this cold civil war that we are in in the United States today.

And it has poisoned us.

It has created so much toxicity in our body politic, in our culture.

In a free society, we don't all have to agree with each other.
