Hey everyone and welcome back to another episode of our podcast, The Bible in a year with

0:26.9

Daily Grace. My name is Miranda and today we are looking at first Samuel 16-13. Saul has

0:34.2

blown his chance of having a long lasting and enduring throne. The kingdom has been torn

1:43.7

and Samuel anoints him as king. Just a little tidbit here. Jesse, David's father,

1:50.5

is the grandson of Boaz and Ruth, which makes David their great grandson. Boaz's mother

2:00.2

was the former prostitute, Rahab, who saved the spies in Jericho. So Rahab is the great,

2:07.2

great grandmother of David. Pretty wild. All of these people will eventually be listed

2:14.0

in the genealogy of Christ since he is the descendant of David. And did you catch that
