Jenny and we are already in the second to last day of 1st Corinthians.

Today we will be going over chapters 10 through 12.

We will be exploring what Paul has to say about idle worship

and spiritual gifts, though this may seem like something a little outdated,

hold tight because there is a lot for us to learn here and apply to our own lives.

So let's get started.

Paul talks a lot about idle worship in these and other

passages and we even explored some of the implications of idle worship yesterday.

This is because Corinth was a city where idle worship was commonplace.

Yesterday we talked about how Christians were free to eat meat that was sacrificed to idols,

but in chapter 10 he makes it very clear that believers should flee from idle worship of every kind.

While they were given liberty with their decision to eat the meat, they certainly should not eat it at the temple or at a

celebration of a pagan god. This is because it was not glorifying God. And when Paul

wanted to make it very clear that they should evaluate each

situation on whether it glorified God. Like we talked about yesterday living for

the glory of God requires us to love God and our neighbor.

And sometimes we must give up our freedoms to do so.

In 1st Corinthians 1024, Paul encourages believers
