Summary

Early 2012 in Gary, Indiana, Latoya Ammons and her young family arrived at their doctor's looking tired and distraught. 

When she was asked what the matter was, however, few could have predicted what she was about to say next.

The property, a modest one-story rental on Carolina Street, a quiet leafy suburb on the outskirts of Gary, Indiana, was meant to be a fresh start.
