Summary

"This episode is part 2 of our series on spiritual warfare called "Fight Like A Girl". We discuss two more essentials in spiritual warfare which are taking authority and declaration. We begin with the quote from the Chronicles of Narnia

"Lucy buried her head in his mane to hide from his face, But there must have been magic in his mane. She could feel lion-strength going into her. Quite suddenly she sat up. "I'm sorry, Aslan," she said. "I'm ready now." "Now you are a lioness," said Aslan. "And now all Narnia will be renewed. But come. We have no time to lose."

One Thing We Love This Week

  • Heather's one thing - Loved seeing U2 in concert last week. I especially love that Bono shamelessly mixes beauty, passion, God, music and worship into what he does. Here's a video of two faith infused songs from a previous tour, Yahweh and (Psalm) 40. He gets the whole crowd worshipping and they don't even know it. Notice the rosary around his neck...it was given to him by Saint John Paul II! Hope you'll watch it till the end... Yahweh & "40"
  • Michelle's one thing - T-shirt designs Feminine Genius, Avila, and Wildflower
  • Sr. Miriam's one thing - Breakfast Smoothie Recipe

In a small blender-

1 cup almond milk

1/3 cup plain greek yogurt

1 tablespoon coconut oil

1 tablespoon chia seeds Splash of vanilla extract

1 scoop Protein and Greens (the good stuff! tastes like a barnyard but it's awesome!)

Fresh fruit or frozen fruit (in lieu of ice cubes) to taste Enjoy! (just floss after eating all the chia seeds! ;) )

My name is Sister Miriam James and I am joined as always by my lovely beautiful friends. We were just laughing very hard before the show started so hopefully we can keep it together so I want to welcome Heather Kim and Michelle Benzinger as always. Heather, how are you this early early morning?

0:40.0

I'm doing well sister despite having about four hours of sleep last night. I feel remarkably good silly maybe but but good. How are you Michelle?

0:49.0

Heather, I think you're slap happy over there.

0:53.0

Yes. We were all giggling like school girls before we started recording. I am good. I'm a little emotional. My oldest daughter the one that we adopted from Haiti graduates from high school this weekend.

1:12.0

It's a really big deal and then the day after she graduates she gets on a plane to go to Haiti to serve as a summer missionary.

1:23.0

There's just lots of change going so my emotions I feel like are right at the surface so I could either laugh or cry at any given moment within a second.

1:33.0

But yeah, it is good and God just been super faithful. He is very faithful. So in a good place in all my second or third cup of coffee I lost count. So I'm prayer and to go here.

1:46.0

We're here and to go. Michelle's voice sounds like she's on fast forward or something because of all the coffee.

1:52.0

Yeah, exactly. Like, oh, can you slow her speed down? No, I would love the graduation announcement that you send Michelle. It's just beautiful to see people.

2:00.0

I remember meeting Algin when she was young. Like I think she was just 12 or 13 and she's a lady now and I was just delighting in her. I just congratulations. I make oh my gosh.

2:10.0

Thanks. Thanks. Yeah, it is amazing to watch God write stories and people's lives, especially hers. So it's a beautiful story. You know, that's still going. But very beautiful. So yeah, good stuff.

2:25.0

It is very good stuff. And so it was very fitting. We're talking about women today because we are going to conclude our second part here of Fight Like a Girl. So if you heard part one, you are about to hear part two.

2:37.0

And we're going to actually guide this whole discussion by a quote from one of our favorite series, which is the Chronicles of Narnia.

2:44.0

And the three of us love Lucy. We love that we love the story. We love Aslan. And so here's kind of our quote that's going to guide our discussion today.

2:52.0

And it's from Prince Caspian. And this is what CS Lewis writes after well after Lucy has in a sense lied and kind of made a mess of things. Aslan comes to confront her.

3:02.0

And I love it because aslan always does that in his way and he brings people to truth and healing. So after she tells them the truth, she's going to hide from him and to see what happens. And here's what happens. This is what CS Lewis writes.

3:13.0

He writes, Lucy buried her head in his main in Aslan's main to hide from his face. But there must have been some magic in his main. She could feel his lion's strength going into her.

3:25.0

And quite suddenly she set up. I'm sorry, Aslan. She said, I'm ready now. And now you are a lioness said, Aslan. And now all of Narnia will be renewed.

3:38.0

I think the three of us have each talked about this quote in different talks that we've given. So Michelle, you are the one who offered this quote today. And I love it. So I'm a firm believer. But what what stars in your heart is you hear that what made you choose this particular quote for today's discussion?

3:53.0

Well, we base the first part of the series on Joan of Arc. And there is a part in Mark Twain's book on Joan of Arc when she is leading the people into battle. And her whole battle speech is sit in she like cheers their mom and says that now you have lion hearts to go in battle.
