We're so glad that you're here. Ryan is a historian and writer with the Church History Department, and he writes on the

archaeology of Latter-day Saint communities and the globalization of the church.

And for the past five years, he has led the Global History's Project, which will be talking more about today,

which publishes brief histories of the places where

church members live, worship, and serve. Very cool. So, Ryan, will you just introduce the Global

Histories Project to our listeners? And just tell us a little bit about what was the vision for

global histories and then what's the status of it right now? Yeah, absolutely. So a few years ago, we actually

started trying to compile as much as we could about the history of the church by place. So we would

go to each country and we'd compile it. We'd had a massive team of missionaries that put those

together. The problem was that they ended up being about 100 pages, and that is not

1:28.1

very easily published. The whole catalog. Yeah, yeah. And it really, it was just like everything

that we had from that place, all the oral histories, the unit histories, everything that we had,

which isn't very readable. And so we decided that what we needed to do is we needed to condense
