the doppelganger who enjoys turning on faucets. Derek says,

Hey, Nick, I hope this is not too soon, but I just finished listening to the May 19th episode, and I thought I really should share the doppelganger story that I mentioned toward the end of my first entry.

To preface this story, I need to mention that when I was 6-14, I had sleep issues. I used to grind my teeth and sit straight up in bed while sleeping.

My mom what I was joke about the latter issue, and say I freaked her out when she was setting aside my wardrobe for the day.

My parents split up when I was in my early teens, so instead of freaking out my mom, it was my brother who got freaked out by this strange behavior.

At the time of this story, my brother and I were living with my dad, and we shared a bedroom. To get an idea of the layout of the apartment, our bedroom was kitty corner to the kitchen.

If you were to open the bedroom door, you could see into the kitchen, and the sink was behind the ledge area.

If my dad was in the kitchen washing his hands or filling a pot of water, you could see him doing this if you were in our bedroom.

Now that I have all that background out of the way, I can finally get into the meat of the incident.

It was the early morning on a weekend, and I had woken up with a dry throat, along with sitting up in bed.

Our bedroom door was halfway open, so I could see into the kitchen. I blinked a few times and looked toward the door, and saw something strange moving around in the darkness.

It started with a dark shadow near the kitchen table. I figured that it was just my dad, but when I looked closer, it was shorter than him, and it was much closer to my height.
