Welcome to Ambridge on the couch. An in-depth look at the Archers with me Harriet Carmichael, Lucy Freeman, Jeff Thomas, Matt Rodriguez-Pain and James Everett. Now, before we make a start on your emails, let's have a recap of what happened this week in Ambridge. We began the week with Ruth commiserating with Jolene about how hard it is to make a

living in hospitality at the moment. How the flipping egg would you know, Ruth? For a start,

you're a farmer. And secondly, your idea of hospitality is a cup of tea that's been simmering

in the pot since a week last Wednesday and a piece of cake made by someone else. Just in case we

were in any doubt as to Ruth's warm and general,

Borrow Me, she got the right hope with Fallon when she quite reasonably asked

if she could fulfil the catering job Ruth had asked her to do in the place

where she would actually be serving it up.

Ruth reacted as if she'd asked if she could dissect a corpse on the chopping board.

Ruth is clearly terrified of Jill, but not to the extent that she could actually be bothered to put

everything back in the right place.

The job rapidly turned into a one-woman version of the Great British Bake-off, with Fallon

tried to cook 50 mini pasties while simultaneously taking photos of the whereabouts of all the forks.

Happily, Fallon was joined by Emma.

He appears to be trailing Fallon round the village and leaping to open doors for her, usher her into parking spaces and generally compensate for her appalling son.

What else happened?

Business is clearly a little slow at the vets, where Jacob has started drumming up his own custom by running over cats.

And Asra has taken on the role of Comedy Townie, complaining about the smell of the countryside
