The European Union has had some success when it's gone toe-to-toe with big tech.

For example, new iPhone has a universal charger after the EU took action.

Now the block has the gig economy in its sights.

It's working on legislation that could give gig workers who use things like ride hailing

or food delivery apps more rights.

But Uber says, if those laws come in, it's going to have to raise its prices by as much

as 40%.

I put that to Pauline at Brandberg, Minister for Gender Equality and Working Life in Sweden,

who's been heavily involved with the negotiations.
