Russia under sanctions.

I welcome Michael Bernstein, the Hoover Institution.

We're going to address inflation exemptions in the Bank of China, but we begin with a report

from Russia of an increase in violent crime by returning veterans of the Ukraine War.

Michael, a very good evening to you.

This is a tragic story in all directions.

Men who are rewarded on the battlefield come home and turn to crime.

You tell me, the most decorated of soldiers has been stripped of home and this is a typical

regions, sometimes from the border, especially from the minority regions in the southern Russia and the border of China.

And they include criminals.

They allow violent parents criminals out of jail in exchange were going to the war.

And they signed several months contract, one-year contract,

and then they go back and commit violent crimes
