I welcome Ivana Strattner, the foundation for the defensive democracy, to explain a twist

in the logic of the Kremlin's aggression towards its people, towards its neighbors, towards

the United States.

This has to do with propaganda, but it begins with a photograph accompanying Ivana's

piece at the dispatch.

There is a very clear, friendly relationship between Vladimir Putin, the president of

the Russian Federation, and the patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch

Karel, who was elected in 2009.

This relationship is one beginning of the propaganda of patriotism and unity that is right

now gripping the Russian people, but also very carefully making its way into American

lives.
