No, Kiev is certainly paying attention to this and is worried by it. Undoubtedly, the

Ukrainian government would prefer for Biden to win next year and to continue existing policies.

I mean, what the Republicans would do if they came to power is of course a very different

question. But as far as the election campaign is concerned, well, I think the Republicans

are in part facing a dilemma. They have to differentiate themselves from the Biden administration

on foreign policy. And given that the Biden administration is actually pursuing a very

tough foreign policy, it's difficult to do that. So, you know, the impetus is whether

sincere or not to really emphasize China, as the threat say, that the Biden administration

is not doing enough against China and that to this end commitments against Russia may

be reduced. This also of course plays into the old Republican hostility to foreign aid

because part of the, well, eight of foreign aid and B to, you know, European piggybacking
