A Russian aerial bomb attack has killed at least 23 civilians and wounded 18 more in the rural

Ukrainian village of Yarova in the eastern Donetsk region.

Ukraine's president Vladimir Zelenskyy described the airstrike as, quote, directly on

people, ordinary civilians.

Some of the victims appear to be elderly, and Zelensky said they were struck as pensions

were being handed out in the village.

Over the weekend, Russia deployed more than 800 drones and struck several targets,

including a government building in Kiev for the first time in its largest attack of the war.
