And I'm Christine Ben's Director of personal finance for Morningstar.

Our guest today is Russ Kinnel.

Russ is Director of Manager Research for Morning Star Research Services and the longtime editor of the Morningstar Fund Investor newsletter.

As part of his duties, Russ chairs the North America Ratings Committee that oversees

and approves the analyst ratings that Morningstar's manager research analysts assigned to the funds they

cover. A mainstay of our research efforts for years, Russ has authored a number of well-known

and widely cited studies, including the annual Mind the Gap study of investor returns, and is

frequently quoted in the financial media. Russ is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin

in Madison from which he received his bachelor's degree in economics. Russ, welcome to the Longview.

Thanks for having me on. I'm excited. We're excited to have you on as well. A lot of our listeners, I think, are probably familiar

with you, but not all of them. So maybe for the benefit of those who are getting to know you

for the first time, can you talk about what you do at Morningstar, the role you play?

Sure. So I am a 26-year veteran of Morningstar, and my current role is I head up the
