Summary

Everyone's been waiting for Dick Ebert to review a Wes Anderson movie. Today is that day. Will Shat The Movies' everyman embrace the whimsy and sophistication of "Rushmore," or will our red-blooded podcast elder scoff at the pretentious eccentricity of a wannabe auteur?

Calling Anderson the "Beck of directors," Big D questions whether he hates the "Rushmore" director or hates himself. Ash explains his distinct style of filming, and Gene argues that Jason Schwartzman's Max is a real dick. They all agree on one point: Bill Murray is absolutely wonderful in this movie.

In this episode, the Shat Crew also share a vocabulary lesson, analyze Anderson's use of slow motion, listen while Gene does math, and debate whether Max's stage productions help or hurt the movie overall.
