Okay. and awards lovers. I'm Rebecca Ford. Just last week on this podcast, I was pointing out Kate Hudson's charming and funny work on Running Point. In the Netflix comedy series, she plays Ila Gordon, a woman who suddenly

finds herself in charge of her family's pro basketball team.

In the first season of the series, which is inspired by Jeannie Buss and the L.A. Lakers,

Ila is tasked with turning around a struggling team while also managing the egos of both the players

and her brothers. Kate Hudson has always been a movie star, but in this series, she really proves why she's one of the best at comedy.

Kate joined me to chat about her decision to take on the risk of a new comedy series,

the lessons she learned from growing up in a family of actors, and her surprising new venture as a musician.
