0:32.0	something, again, different. I'm making a choice to be transparent with you about some challenges I've run into
0:39.6	over the years as a runner, as someone who actually decided that I was going to go for the effort
0:48.7	of becoming a Boston marathon finisher. I didn't know at the time that I started running as a fundraiser for
0:56.8	those who suffer from leukemia and lymphoma on behalf of my friend who had been diagnosed
1:02.1	with leukemia and who would ultimately lose his life to that struggle. I had not been a runner.
1:09.1	I was someone just trying to make a difference, make sense of my friend's predicament, and really just give him hope, a cheerleader, tackle my own challenges confronting cancer, and get out there and do something I'd never done before. I'd never been a runner.
1:28.9	And so I have a conflicted relationship with the entire thing that is running.
1:34.6	I was able to train for, complete, and then even become a distance athlete trainer for others
1:43.3	who would raise funds for leukemia and lymphoma as well.
1:46.1	I was able to raise over $20,000 over the course of a few seasons.
1:51.5	That may not sound like a lot, but it was enough to fund half of a researcher for an entire year.
1:57.2	I know you have to hire a whole person, please.
2:03.4	But this was one of the ways that you further research and you further the science behind a really debilitating disease. And so because
2:10.2	the lovely Tina Muir does not necessarily have as much time as I would like her to have to come
2:15.5	and spend with me and interview on shows,
