| 1:02.1 | with leukemia and who would ultimately lose his life to that struggle. I had not been a runner. |
| 1:09.1 | I was someone just trying to make a difference, make sense of my friend's predicament, and really just give him hope, a cheerleader, tackle my own challenges confronting cancer, and get out there and do something I'd never done before. I'd never been a runner. |
| 1:28.9 | And so I have a conflicted relationship with the entire thing that is running. |
| 1:34.6 | I was able to train for, complete, and then even become a distance athlete trainer for others |
| 1:43.3 | who would raise funds for leukemia and lymphoma as well. |

| 1:51.5 | That may not sound like a lot, but it was enough to fund half of a researcher for an entire year. |
