Today's alert is so disturbing and so obvious.

And now it's needed so often that I hope the gravity of it comes through.

The weekend of May 13 to 15 should be a weekend that is not forgotten in modern times.

The reason is the horrible slaughter that took place in Buffalo, New York.

Of 10 innocent people and a number of other people wounded.

And it appears from the evidence that has made public that for whatever other pathological reasons it took place.

The selection was made because the killer believed that that had the highest percentage of African American citizens, at least that zip code did in the area nearest camp.

Murder is the worst of all crimes, of course, because it has the human being playing God.

And taking away the sacred life that God has given to someone, which none of us has any right to do.

It is made worse.

What it's based on a bias, a prejudice, an irrational categorization of human beings.

What occurs because of a racial, ethnic, religious, or any other form of prejudice.

There is something worse about it in some ways, because it's irrational and doesn't have to happen.

I don't know that any murder has to happen.

But some murders of passion seem to come from the depths of the human personality and they are hard to deter.

When I was mayor of New York, I took over a city of averaging 2,000 murders a year for the four years before I was mayor.

And I reduced it to between 500 and 600 murders in eight years.
