Thank you for choosing this sleep story tonight.

Before I begin, get yourself comfortable into bed.

Feeling the weight of the blanket,

letting your head rest into the pillow,

and taking soft breaths in through your nose,

and out through your mouth. It was an ordinary

afternoon when Ruby wandered a little farther than usual from her

grandmother's garden. The sun was warm, the air filled with the scent of honeysuckle and fresh earth.

She followed the winding path through the tall ferns behind the house, chasing a butterfly with wings that shimmer

like stained glass. But then the ferns grew thicker, taller, taller than ruby, taller than any plants she had ever seen the light

around her began to change too more golden more still The air grew heavier and yet somehow softer, like velvet. She turned

back to find the trail, but the path behind her was gone. She was not frightened, only curious.

The ferns parted suddenly, revealing a wide open plain.

Mountains loomed in the distance, jagged and majestic.

Strange birds with brilliant crests flew overhead,

and the air pulsed with a low hum,

like the land itself was breathing.

A distant rumble echoed through the valley. Ruby turned towards the sound and saw it.

A massive creature with a long neck and gentle eyes.

A dinosaur.

Ruby stood frozen in wonder.
