I really had no idea what was in store for me.

Or how much meeting this man would change my life.

But it did.

Not only was I going to be fortunate enough to tell the story that is,

by all accounts, a true piece of the history of the American South, for better or worse.

But I'd also end up playing a small role in a genuine turning point in this man's complicated life.
