as we enter the mini-camp season of the NFL, the business of the NFL is well on stage

because rookie contracts were being done at a fast and furious pace.

Back in the day, I know I sound like an old fart, but back when I did contracts for the Green Bay Packers

and did over 100 rookie contracts, they were always, always without a doubt, put off till the end,

if not the last day before training camp, because

agents didn't want to look bad. You had some negotiation to do with these contracts to figure

out, and maybe it was just between $1,000 or $10,000 or $100,000 for the higher picks or

half a million dollars for the higher picks, but it was still a negotiation. They weren't

locked into parameters that they are now. So back in the day, I couldn't get agents to do

contracts. I'd try and hit my head against the wall in May and June, even early July. Not until
