Welcome to our Rosary meditation.

I am blessed to be joined by my Habibi and by Theresa the Great Mason, with Cameron

the Tsarar with Xavier who needs no introduction and his name is his title and with the

coffee came.

So let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

I have taken our meditation for today from a wonderful book by Jason Everett called

John Paul the Great, His Five Loves. The chapter on the cross is excellent. He writes, after consolidating

mass with the Holy Father in his private chapel, a priest from Michigan

had a brief opportunity to meet the Pope.

The priest had a broken leg and stood on crutches as John Paul approached him in the receiving line of guests.

He said to the Pope with a twinge of humor, I broke my leg.

Can I please have your blessing? John Paul replied,

Don't waste your suffering.

The Holy Father raised his hand,

blessed the priest and then with an open palm thumped him on the head.

It was a good reminder. palm thumped him on the head.

It was a good reminder that we shouldn't waste our suffering, but we too often do waste our

sufferings.

They are the most powerful means to bring about our own greatest good and the greatest good for others,

if we know how to accept them with trust and to offer them with love to Christ.
