What is going on, man? Not too much, DJ. Just another eventful week in the land of football. Yeah, eventful is one way to put it there.

Yeah, we've got a lot of interesting things have happened around the league.

0:27.8

We always have one eye towards the draft as well,

0:30.2

which is why I'm excited for the guests that we have joining us here in just a minute.

0:34.5

We're also going to hit a little hot or not a little bit later on. We like to talk about some guys who are really clicking. We usually do more hot than not in that segment, which we'll get to in a little bit. But before we do that, I'm excited for this guest and I'm excited to talk a little draft. All right, Buck, excited to have Trevor join us. I know you guys have heard him on here before.

0:56.6

1:08.9

Glad to be on the program here uh now in the month of

1:12.2

november so it shows that you are like us the draft season never sleeps so it's good to be

1:16.4

with you guys no matter much well i would say it never sleeps but i i would say that i i take a nap

1:21.6

so now i'm just kind of like getting up that's fair yeah i take a little nap at the beginning

1:27.1

of the season so now i'm waking up and uh and to get going. And we want to get into some big picture thoughts. You've got, I believe you have a mock draft out now. So I want to talk a little bit about big picture class, what this is looking like position wise here in a little bit. But before we get to the future, I want to go to the past a little bit. And let's look at these quarterbacks from this current class. Biggest surprise for you. Maybe good or bad. I go wherever you want. But just biggest surprise from these rookie quarterbacks so far. Man, biggest surprise. Let me think. Because honestly, like, they're all, I guess I would say Bo Nix.

2:03.6

Like, Bo Nix is sort of like the obvious one, but I was also kind of a Bo Nix believer.

2:08.2

Now, did I think he'd look this good year one?

2:11.0

No, but I felt like the version of Bonix that we're seeing right now was in the cards for him.

2:17.3

I felt like it'd be year two, year three, but the way that he is playing is a lot of the strengths that we saw during his time when he was at Oregon. I just think that there are a good amount of people who sort of watched his time in Oregon and thought that he was just this screen merchant, as the kids say, right? I mean, like you're throwing behind the line of scrimmage. You're not throwing it deep down the field. I mean, last time I was on with you guys, I remember talking about those third and long situations, third and seven plus, and Bonix graded out very highly in those, but he wasn't pushing it bass to sticks a lot. So now this marriage with him and Sean Payton, it was one of my favorite potential quarterback head coach pairings that we were going to have in this class.

2:54.1

And we ended up getting it. And here we are. I think we're well ahead of schedule for Bo Nix. And so I think that him being that far ahead of schedule is a surprise. And then for as much as Jaden Daniels was the Heisman trophy winner, I mean, playing as well as he did basically from week two to week seven. I mean, he was like, we were talking about this guy in an MVP conversation, not just in an offensive rookie of the year conversation. So those two to me, I feel like really stand out in a good way, honestly. And the other ones, yeah, they're struggling. And rookie quarterback struggle. Y'all know this. Your listeners know this. And so those are the two that I've been really pleasantly surprised with. I'm going to say this real quick and I'll let Buck jump in because I don't want Buck. Buck will get hit with Homerism if he makes this comment that I'm getting ready to make. I could make the case that since he's got in the lineup, that what Drake May is doing with who he's with,

3:42.5

and that is a big picture who he's with.

3:44.8

You take that however you want on the field,

3:47.1

calling plays everything altogether,

3:49.3

like what he's working with,

3:50.6

the infrastructure that he has there,
