sometimes an in-stuff too. This week we are book clubbing Ronnie Specter's memoir Be

My Baby written in 1990. So I have to say I was afraid to read this book and this is your

trigger warning for the whole episode. I knew some things about her relationship with

a user and convicted murderer, a music producer, Phil Specter. And I spent a lot of this year

actually talking about intimate partner violence and exploring my own relationship to it and

I just needed a break. You know, I needed a Jamie Lynn. I needed a curstiali. I just needed

a break for a little bit. And then our beloved Ronnie Specter passed away this year. And so I

cracked open my copy of the memoir and wow, did I love reading this book? I cried at the end.

So we're going to get into it all. But before we do, please enjoy one of my favorite Ronnie Specter songs.

wrote on a little show called Girls 5 Eva with me. So I introduce all my guests with the story

of Howie First Met. And I kind of just said the story of Howie First Met. We met on a Zoom.

Yeah, those first pandemic days. I know. So long ago. So long ago. And I remember,

you know, when you got hired, it's like, okay, this writer's room is going to happen on Zoom.
